Instacart - a Python project
Instacart is an online grocery store that operates through an app. They want to use data analytics to uncover more information about their clients and their buying patterns, to prepare personalised marketing content for their app.

Key stakeholders’ questions:

-
What are the busiest days and hours for sales?
-
When people spend most of their money?
-
Create a simpler price profile for the products.
-
Create simpler customer profiles, and find out their buying trends.

Key findings:

-
Weekend days are the busiest time for sales (50% more per day, compared to weekly days).
-
People spend more during weekends. Sales are lower but stable during the week.
-
67% of products are mid-range priced, 31% are low-range priced, and only 2% are considered expensive.
-
62% of customers are older parents with dependants, and are mid to high earners.

Key Suggestions:

-
Prioritise marketing budgeting (for adds) during the busiest sales time, when people are using the app.
-
Launch promotion or discounts for loyal/returning customers.
-
Create a ‘most popular’ section in the app for the most popular products.
-
Create/offer subscription email lists with personalised products depending on client profile.
