Rockbusters Stealth - a SQL project
Rockbusters is a film rental company with physical stores. It is facing fierce competition from online streaming services, and wants to use data analysis to inform their strategy for a new online platform.

Key questions to answer:

-
Which movies generated the most revenue?
-
What is the average rental duration?
-
Do sales vary depending on the region?
-
Who are the top customers and where do they live?

Key insights found:
-
The sports category is the most rented, counting for 7.6% of the revenue. Other categories have an average of 6.25%.
-
The average rental time is of 5 days.
-
Asia is Rockbuster’s stronghold with more than 50% of clients, but America and Africa present a slighter higher proportion of revenue (0.5%) compared to their population size.
-
The top 15 customers live in 14 countries, and 60% of them are located in Asia.

Key suggestions proposed:
-
Launch promotion ‘refer us to a friend’ to get ‘X’ discount, in countries with less than 2% of clientele (68%).
-
Consider a loyalty reward program for spending over a certain average ($31.5 dollars).
-
Consider a special price for days of rental above the average.
-
Create customised sections in the online platform such as ‘watch one, get one free’ or ‘everyone is watching).
